The Town of Bedford through the combined efforts of its departments seeks to enhance the quality of life and protect the citizens of Bedford by providing professional and progressive Emergency Management Services in the event of a catastrophic incident within the Town of Bedford.
The Town’s Emergency Management will provide town-wide emergency management program leadership, continuity, and direction to enable the Town of Bedford and its partners to respond to, recover from, and mitigate the impact of natural, manmade, or technological disasters upon its people or property.
Resident & Business Disaster Preparedness
While the town Emergency Management team has been proactive in updating the emergency operation plan, all hazard mitigation plan, and public health regional emergency planning; they are not able create specific plans that meet individual needs. The Emergency Management team encourages all Bedford residents and businesses to be prepared in the event of natural and man made emergencies. Such emergencies may result in your being isolated within your home, leave your home for an extended period of time, or close your business. Examples of these events may be: Ice Storms, Rain Events, and snow storms. Man-made events can include traffic accidents with road closures, releases of flammable gases and liquids, and Public Health emergencies can include wide spread disease outbreak.
