Each of the specific permit applications supplied by this department lists the minimum required documents for each. The specifics for the documentation required by each permit is available in a separate package available upon request.

Demolition Permits
- Asbestos requirement (PDF) (if applicable)
- Completed application form including second page for utility sign offs (where applicable)
- Copy of asbestos evaluation
- Copy of asbestos mitigation report

New 1 & 2 Family Structures
- 2 complete sets of drawings (stamped by design professional when framing not in compliance with adopted code)
- Approved building lot
- Approved Driveway permit
- Approved septic design or verification of sewer hookup
- Completed energy compliance form with calculations
- Energy Compliance Form (PDF)
- Heat loss calculations (needed to validate sizing of heating and cooling equipment)
- Permit Application Form (PDF)
- Site plan with location of proposed structure
Addition or Remodel of 1 & 2 Family Structures
- 2 Complete sets of drawings showing structure before remodel or addition and after remodel or addition
- Approved septic design or verification of sewer hookup if increasing load on septic system.
- Completed energy compliance form with calculations
- Energy Compliance Form (PDF)
- Location of existing septic system (if applicable) (if the existing structure has been constructed since 1996, a copy of the original certified plot plan is required)
- Permit Application Form (PDF)
- Plot plan showing location of all existing structures on the property and their distances to all lot lines.
Finished Basements
- 2 complete sets of drawings showing basement area before and after remodel (label all areas for intended use)
- Approved septic design or verification of sewer hookup if increasing load on septic system (adding bedroom) or installing a raw sewage ejector pump.
- Completed energy compliance form with calculations (available on website - see permit application forms)
- Completed permit application. (available on website - see permit application forms)

New - All Other Use Groups
- 2 complete sets of complete drawings (to include architectural, structural, and mechanical plans stamped by design professional when required) with location of all required life safety devices
- The plans are also required to contain a complete code analysis to verify code compliance
- Approved septic design or verification of sewer hookup
- Complete fire alarm submission for approval
- Complete sprinkler submission for approval
- Completed energy compliance forms
- Permit Application Form (PDF)
- Site plan approved and signed by the planning board
Remodel or Addition - All Other Use Groups
- 2 complete sets of drawings showing structure before remodel or addition and after remodel or addition
- Approved septic design or verification of sewer hookup if changing use group from current use
- Complete fire alarm submission for approval
- Complete sprinkler submission for approval
- Completed energy compliance form
- Permit Application Form (PDF)
- Site plan approved and signed by the planning board
New Septic System Installation
- A State of NH DES approved septic design
- Completed application form with all pertinent information completed.

Signs
- 2 sets of plans for the sign showing all dimensions, supports and source of illumination (if any) and material specifications
- Location and sizes of any other existing signs currently located on the property or structures
- Location of proposed sign and its distances to the various lot lines

Solar Pv Panels - Roof or Ground Mount
- Aerial view of where the panels are to be located on the building or the ground.
- Completed building remodeling permit
- For ground mount - engineering evaluation resistance to uplift of the supporting system along with a plot plan showing distance from array to property and wetlands.
- For roof mount - stamped structural engineering evaluation of existing roof framing being adequate to support additional roof loading (the number of panels used for the evaluation must be listed in the report)
- Typically only a final electric inspection is required. A structural inspection will be required for ground mounts (footings)or roof applications when structural modifications are required to the existing roof support system.

Storage Sheds, Decks & Porches
- Completed application form with all pertinent information

- Foundation details when required (sheds over 200 square feet must have support that goes below frost line - 48 inches).

- Plan view of shed with dimensions (LxW) and a cross section detailing framing specifications.
- Plot plan-showing location of all existing structures on the property and their distances to all lot lines. Location of existing septic system (if applicable) and proposed location of new shed. NOTE: If the existing structure has been constructed since 1996 a copy of the original certified plot plan is required.
Swimming Pools
- Permit Application Form (PDF)
- Plot plan showing location of all existing structures on the property and their distances to all lot lines. Location of existing septic system (if applicable) and proposed location of new swimming pool (if the existing structure has been constructed since 1996 a copy of the original certified plot plan is required)
- Pool Barrier outline drawn on plot plan. Size and type of barrier shall be listed on plans. - Barrier shall be 48" high, main gate shall open out and self close, latch height to be at 54", max chain-link size 13/4"
- Pool information regarding size, type of heater (if there is to be one), fuel storage for heater, pool construction, etc.
- Public pools and spas (as defined per Department of Environmental Services [DES] rules Env-Wq 1100) copy of design approval from DES
