Emergency Management

The Town of Bedford through the combined efforts of its departments seeks to enhance the quality of life and protect the citizens of Bedford by providing professional and progressive Emergency Management Services in the event of a catastrophic incident within the Town of Bedford.

The Town’s Emergency Management will provide town-wide emergency management program leadership, continuity, and direction to enable the Town of Bedford and its partners to respond to, recover from, and mitigate the impact of natural, man-made, or technological disasters upon its people or property.

Proactive Awareness

While the town Emergency Management team has been proactive in updating the Emergency Operation plan, All Hazard Mitigation plan, and Public Health Regional Emergency planning, they are not able create specific plans that meet individual needs.

Disaster Preparedness

The Emergency Management team encourages all Bedford residents and businesses to be prepared in the event of natural, man-made, and public health emergencies. Examples of these events may include:

  • Rain events
  • Release of flammable gas or liquid
  • Snow storms
