Permits, Forms, & Fees

Fire alarm and suppression permits will no longer be included with the Building Permit application approval process.

Fire and Building permits are now separate. All fire alarm and suppression permits must be applied for through the Risk Management Division of the Bedford Fire Department.

A placard will be issued with each approved permit at the time of permit issuance (Life Safety Systems Permit). This red placard must be displayed in a conspicuous location during construction.

Permit fees are due at the time of permit issuance.

Periodic inspections by the Fire Department may occur during the entire project timeline.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact the Fire Department for all inspections.

Permits will not be accepted through the online portal.

Permits may be submitted via email to educlos@bedfordnh.org or USPS to Bedford Fire Department, 55 Constitution Drive, Bedford NH 03110 (Attn: Elizabeth Duclos).

  • Certificates of completion for new tenants in leased or rental spaces (non-residential)
  • Drilling and blasting operations
  • Installation or alteration of fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression systems
  • Life safety reviews
  • Underground storage tank removals
